Telecope - Skywatcher 8 Inch Dobsonian

A Reflector or "Newtonian" telescope, the dobsonian moves by turning the telescope by hand, it is not moved with any other help or guidance. Although it does not use mechanical guidance, the design makes it easy to quickly point out and find celestial objects.

The Sky-Watcher Dobsonian Telescopes includes 153mm/1200mm (6"), 203mm/1200mm (8") and 254mm/1200mm (10") Newtonian-based models. All models have a "paraboloidal" primary mirror to eliminate spherical aberration and a four-arm, secondary- mirror bracket with fine supports (0.5mm thick), to reduce diffraction spikes and light loss. In addition, all models include a 2" focuser with a 1.25" adapter, allowing the use of either eyepiece size. The 203mm/1200mm (8") and 254mm/1200mm (10") models also include the new feature-tension control handle

camera - Philips ToUcam Pro

The Toucam Pro Web-Camera set to take images at 640X480

The ToUcam Pro has been modified by removing the lens and replacing it with a screw adapter that fits into a 1.25" telescope. The camera is then connected to a laptop and the pictures and videos are recorded onto the hard drive through k3ccd. The images are then ready for processing

Round Table Platform (RTP)

Brian Reed's Round table platforms idea was suggested to me at cloudynights, it is basically an EQ polatform allowing the images stay in the FOV longer. This means longer exposures and more stacking. The RTP has been reviewed here.

A big thanks goes out to Brian who has been very helpful to this day, and for letting me use all the images. A new RTP Review will be uploaded soon, please contact me if you have any round table platform or EQ platform Queries and i will answer them. I highly encourage people to buy this product at roundtableplatforms.com

eyepieces

Allthough eyepieces are not important for using a ccd camera they are still greatly important for using the DSLR and also for viewing through the telescope. Here are all the lenses i use at the moment. They are all 1.25

The 2X barlow in the middle increases the image size by 2X and is useful both both DSLR and CCD imaging.

For the 2" eyepieces i can use the adapter shown here
